AI-powered system

A virtual lean expert analysing your production 24/7.

MES.AI is an AI-powered system that analyses your production around the clock, detects waste and tells you what to improve. The camera provides the image — AI does the rest. No PLC integration, no costly MES rollout.

The problem

You can’t improve a process you can’t see.

Most plants know production time from standards and shift reports. What really happens during the day never makes it onto paper — and that’s where the losses are.

Reports after the fact Downtime logged by hand at the end of the shift — from memory, roughly, or not at all.
Invisible micro-stops Short stops of a few dozen seconds never reach a report, yet add up to hours.
MES is a big project A traditional rollout needs controller integration and takes months — older machines are often left out.
The heart of the system

The camera is just the eyes. AI is the heart of MES.AI.

A virtual lean expert analyses your production 24 hours a day. It compares shifts, days and stations, detects waste and tells you what to improve — before anyone opens a report.

WaitingPacking The queue grows every day between 10:00 and 11:30 Consider a second operator or moving the break for that period.
Micro-stopsStation 3 Recurring 40-second stops roughly every 15 minutes The pattern points to missing material — check the supply cycle to the station.
Unnecessary motionStation 2 The operator leaves the station about 12 times per shift Move the component bin closer to the work area.

AI detects the 8 lean wastes

The classic wastes (muda), recognised from what actually happens on the floor — without manual observation or time studies.

Waiting Units and people waiting for the next step.
Transport Unnecessary movement of material between stations.
Motion Walking and reaching that adds no value.
Inventory Units piling up before zones.
Overproduction More or faster than the next step needs.
Defects Defects and rework visible in the image.
Over-processing Repeated or unnecessary operations at a station.
Unused talent People’s time spent on non-value-adding tasks.

One AI system, many questions about the process

AI analyses the same camera image for questions from different departments. Start with one scenario and add more without new hardware.

For shift managers and lean teams: where time goes between a unit entering and leaving.

Workstation cycle time

The real duration of every operation — measured for each unit.

Which station holds a unit the longest, and how that shifts through the day.

How it works

The camera is the eyes. AI is the brain.

01

Camera — the eyes

A camera above the station, new or existing. It only provides the image.

02

Edge AI

An on-site AI model recognises events: running, stopped, flow, presence. By default, footage never leaves the floor.

03

AI lean expert

Analyses events 24/7, compares shifts and days, detects waste and its causes.

04

Recommendations and reports

Concrete advice on what to improve, plus OEE, cycle time and downtime — with export to ERP / WMS / BI.

The production day

The whole shift, minute by minute

From recognised events MES.AI builds a timeline of the production day — for every line, old and new.

Wherever the process is visible to the eye

MES.AI works where work happens at stations and on conveyors — including older machines with no data access.

What you need for a pilot

A cameraAn existing IP camera (RTSP) or ours — we’ll choose and install it.
Power at the stationFor the camera and Edge Box.
Internet connectionTo send events. Outages are fine — data is buffered.
One contact personSomeone who knows the process and what you want to measure.
Privacy and data

We measure the process, not people

Local processing Camera footage is processed locally, on a device on the shop floor.
Video stays on site In day-to-day production, events go to the cloud, not recordings. Footage leaves the site only with the customer’s consent and under a contract — for example during commissioning (to train the model) or at the customer’s request (camera preview).
Data in the EU We store production data in a database in the EU. Any non-EU providers that may access it are named in the data processing agreement.
Separate database Each customer’s shop-floor events are kept in a separate database.
Pilot

Pilot: one workstation, 30 days

We start with one camera. Within the first days we show where the line loses time and whether the losses justify a wider rollout.

1 Day 1
Choose a workstation We pick the station most suspected of losses.
2 First days
Install camera and train the model Installation and model training on footage from your floor.
3 Within 48 h
First report The first picture of the production day from the start of collection.
4 Day 30
Decide on rollout A joint review and a decision on further workstations.
FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Do I need PLC integration?

No. The system learns from video, so it also works on older machines without controllers or data access.

Can I use my existing cameras?

Yes, if they are IP cameras with an RTSP stream and a view of the workstation. If not, we’ll choose and install one.

Does the system rate employees?

That is not its purpose. MES.AI measures the course of the process — work, stoppages, flow of pieces — and results relate to workstations and processes. Where people are in the frame (e.g. protective-equipment checks), the customer, as employer, sets the scope and informs staff, and we help prepare it. Footage is processed locally on a device on the shop floor.

What if the plant loses internet?

The Edge Box keeps recognising events and stores them locally. Once the network is back, it sends everything it collected.

How many cameras per workstation?

Usually one. One camera can also cover several points on a conveyor if they’re in view.

How long is the pilot and what does it cost?

The pilot runs 30 days on one workstation. Scope and cost are agreed after a short conversation about the process.

Can data go to ERP or BI?

Yes. Events and reports can be exported to ERP, WMS and BI tools.

What happens after the pilot?

We review the results together. If the losses justify it, we add more workstations the same way.

Want to see where your line loses time?

We’ll show MES.AI on a process similar to yours. Short, concrete, and no rollout to start.
